.) A culvert bypass cofferdam system was already in place, but it was not working very well.
.) An 8ft tall single closed end (SCE) AquaDam will be deployed directly over these sandbags, but first culvert pipe must be added so that the creek water can flow through.
.) The 8ft tall SCE AquaDam will extend all the way to the opposite bank, near the pallet of sandbags.
.) This is a photo looking downstream of where the AquaDam will be placed.
.) A bridge is getting widened while the water continues to flow right by underneath the work area.
.) Here we can see the exit pipes of the culvert bypass.
.) Workers have already laid the additional culvert and started installing the 8ft tall AquaDam. Ropes have been tied from concrete piers to the AquaDam to help keep the dam in place while it is being filled with water.
.) The 8ft tall SCE AquaDam has almost made it to its ending bank.
.) Here we can see the starting point (open end) of the AquaDam up on its starting bank. The open end and fill-tubes of a SCE AquaDam must be elevated higher than the full height of dam along its given path. An AquaDam will only reach its full height at the lowest elevation along its given path.
.) After the AquaDam has enough head the unit can hold itself and the ropes that were holding it can be released.
.) The 8ft tall SCE AquaDam is now several feet taller than the original sandbag and plastic cofferdam.
.) Looking back at the starting bank we can see that there was plenty of rise in elevation to keep the water inside of the dam.
.) Looking at the roll end at it ending bank. The AquaDam should leave and meet the bank at a perpendicular angle.
.) The 8ft tall SCE AquaDam is getting close to being full. The upstream water continues pooling up.
.) Looking downstream, while standing on the AquaDam.
.) The bridge work continues while the AquaDam is being installed.
.) The roll end at the ending bank was not quite perpendicular to the bank.
.) The 8ft tall AquaDam is almost full and has been installed in a line configuration.
.) The 8ft tall SCE AquaDam has been installed and is working great.
