A worker digs a shallow channel in the riverbank for a pipe to be laid into, at the first location. This pipe will go under the AquaDam for the pooled water upstream created by the dam.

Here is the starting bank for the first single closed end (SCE) AquaDam. The starting bank for a SCE AquaDam needs to be greater in height than the full height of the AquaDam along its given path. An AquaDam will reach its full height at the lowest elevation where it has been laid, everywhere else it will be slightly less in height.

Workers pile riverbank gravel alongside the pipe to help prevent it from moving during the installation of the AquaDam.

AquaDams are made from light weight material, come rolled-up like a carpet roll, and shipped with a protective wrapping. The worker here has already removed the protective wrapping from this unit.

The SCE AquaDam has been laid at the starting bank and unrolled a few feet of length to expose the starting point (open end) and fill-tubes.

Here we can see the open end and at least one of the fill-tubes that has a blue discharge hose in it. The discharge hose open end should have no fitting and stretch down the starting bank. The open end of a SCE AquaDam should be restrained to unmovable objects (anchors) while the unit is filled with water.

The first SCE AquaDam is filling. Workers help keep the pipe and AquaDam in place as the AquaDam fills.

The first AquaDam has reached its ending bank. Workers make sure the end of the AquaDam goes straight up the ending bank.

The first SCE AquaDam is now full, and water is pooling upstream. The AquaDam reached its full height at the deepest part along its path or the hole near the ending bank on the right.

The upstream water has pooled up and is running through the pipe.

The second location for a SCE AquaDam with a pipe laid underneath.

The second pipe has been positioned at the location desired.

A worker unrolls a few feet of length to expose the open end and fill-tubes, preparing the unit to be placed at the starting bank.

Workers position the second SCE AquaDam, prior to fill it with water. One worker addresses the starting bank and the other the roll end.

The open end of the second SCE AquaDam has been tied back to a tree trunk to keep the unit in place while it fills. The fill-tubes can be seen hanging down the starting bank.

Pumping has started and a worker is making sure the pipe and dam stay in place while filling.

The second SCE AquaDam is filling. A worker holds the roll end to allow the unrolled length to build head as the unit fills.

The second AquaDam has reached its ending bank and continues to fill.

Great job AquaDam!
