A 4ft tall 9ft wide 100ft long single closed end (SCE) AquaDam was successfully installed in a wetland area located near Kansas City, Kansas. AquaDams are known for their environmentally friendly nature and ease of installation, making them a popular choice for water containment projects. To ensure proper installation and functionality of a SCE AquaDam, it is essential to have a starting bank that maintains a higher elevation than the body of the AquaDam. The open end and fill-tubes of the SCE AquaDam must remain elevated above the full height of the dam along its designated path. It is important to note that an AquaDam will only reach its maximum height at the lowest elevation point along its designated path.
AquaDams are constructed using lightweight and flexible materials, allowing them to turn and bend with the native terrain. An AquaDam will reach its full height and width at the deepest point along its given path. Notice that the AquaDam is thinnest out in the middle of the water system, this is because that is the deepest area the AquaDam crossed.
The workers efficiently installed the 4ft tall SCE AquaDam directly over the existing vegetation, utilizing the nearby open water source. The entire installation process was completed in just two hours. The vegetation underneath the AquaDam will naturally regenerate without the need for additional seeding.
Great job AquaDam!
