1.) AquaDams were used to store 1.6-million-gallons of saltwater from Shamu's aquarium. It was a whale of a job, but Aqua Dam, Inc. did it in three days! This is Shamu's empty home. She went on vacation while it was being renovated.
2.) Getting started in the VIP parking lot of SeaWorld. The AquaDams are laid out and ready to be filled with water.
3.) 20 rows of 4f tall 9ft wide (full) AquaDams 230ft long each. Closed on one end and open on the other for easy access.
4.) These are the closed end of the AquaDams.
5.) This is the open end of the AquaDams. You can see the fill-tubes that have been closed using duct tape.
6.) A total of 1.6-million-gallons of water were stored in the AquaDams.
7.) Pumping down the AquaDams and re-rolling for future use. Multiple 3-inch pumps were used.
8.) Multiple 3-inch pumps discharge into a temporary holding pool to be re-pumped by an 8-inch pump 2,500ft to Shamu's 1.6-million-gallon refurbished aquarium.
9.) Re-rolled AquaDams for storage and later use. No mess to clean up!
10.) The AquaDams are fork-lifted back onto a truck. The emptying and re-rolling process took only five days.
