An 8ft tall 17ft wide 65ft long single closed end (SCE) AquaDam has been launched from its starting bank. A SCE AquaDam requires a bank to keep its starting point (open end) higher in elevation than the body of the AquaDam. The open end and fill-tubes of a SCE AquaDam must be elevated higher than the full height of dam along its given path. An AquaDam will only reach its full height at the lowest elevation along its given path.

Workers tie back the open end and set up pumps to fill the 8ft tall SCE AquaDam with water from the pond.

The open end has been tied back to an unmovable object (anchor) and is being filled with water. Water pumps are pumping water into the fill-tubes of the AquaDam. The increasing water pressure causes the rolled-up AquaDam to unroll.

The 8ft tall SCE AquaDam has unrolled to its ending bank. The AquaDam should meet both the starting and ending banks at a perpendicular angle. The roll end is not at a perpendicular angle in this photo.

Workers used rope and an excavator to twist and pull the roll into the right angle as it unrolled up its ending bank. The work area has been isolated from the rest of the pond.

Workers have begun to de-watering the work area.

The roll end was tied back to anchors to prevent it from moving, after the 8ft tall AquaDam reached its ending bank.

Wonderful job AquaDam!
