This view showcases the open end and fill-tubes of the 2.5ft tall SCE AquaDam®. The fill-tubes were strategically elevated on an artificially constructed earthen berm. Ensuring a successful installation requires a starting bank that positions the open end at an elevation higher than the full height of the AquaDam®. Throughout its designated path, both the open end and fill-tubes must remain elevated above the dam’s maximum height. Notably, the AquaDam® will achieve its full height only at the lowest point along its intended path.
Due to the steep grade and soft, unstable mud at the installation site, metal stakes were necessary on both sides of the AquaDam® to secure it against sliding.
A 2.5ft tall, 5ft wide (fully filled), 300ft long Single Closed End (SCE) AquaDam® was deployed to effectively isolate the shoreline of the designated work area from the adjacent waterway.
