General Motors was constructing wastewater ponds for an automotive plant in San Luis Potosi Mexico. At this time the automotive plant had already started producing automobiles but was behind on the construction schedule.

This cofferdam system consisted of four 3ft tall 7ft wide 100ft long single closed end (SCE) AquaDams, each with a connection collar. A connection collar is attached to the closed end of an AquaDam and is used as a secure starting bank for another SCE AquaDam. The fill-tubes of a SCE go inside and through the collar, while the starting point (open end) is bloused out on top of the closed end inside the collar.

Water trucks were used to fill these AquaDams and the process was very time consuming.

Workers used the AquaDam cofferdam system to section off one third of the pond, which had already been completed.
